The location adjacent to Shree Maruti temple at Varkhandem, Ponda is dangerous as vehicles usually proceed at a very fast speed. And with the absence of traffic signboards, pedestrain crossing, and speed-breakers, pedestrians, especially school students/aged people face great difficulties in crossing the road. During ‘Road Safety Week’, the authorities advise citizens to follow traffic rules, but it is pity that no practical action has been taken to assure safety. Also, people park their cars over the road thereby causing obstruction to smooth movement of traffic. It is time for the concerned competent authorities to view this matter most seriously. Deputing a permanent traffic cop at this sensitive spot would go a long way in assuring relief to one and all.
