Chandor, the old capital of Goa, has always remained backwards as no politician has ever bothered about it. Even the roads are in terrible shape. Yes, we the people of Chandor and Guridolim are against highway no 8 and have unanimously said a big ‘No’ to the highway through our village. But that does not mean we do not want good roads. Why has the road from Mendes workshop to Cotta not been hot-mixed? The road is full of potholes and needs urgent attention. So many politicians and ministers have come and gone and it has all been empty promises thus far. Even the road from Cotta to the church is full of potholes and many accidents have taken place along this road. Moreover, when the potholes are filled with water, it becomes difficult to gauge their depth. Even the Railway bridge issues are not solved and the problem continues and we the villagers are the sufferers. My request to all my villagers of Chandor and Guridolim is to unite and come together to protect and save our village. The PWD department and Minister need to take action as soon as possible. We also request TCP Minister Vijai Sadessai to de-notify the highway no 8 passing through our village.
