It’s examination time once again and all the young people are engrossed in their final revisions. With the public examination of S.S.C. and H.S.S.C round the corner, tension is in the air. The stress associated with answering an examination for the career ahead poses lots of challenges for these young minds.

The exams need to be faced with determination, vigour, and dedication to achieve the desired goals. For this one needs to understand oneself or in other words feeling good. This feel good factor adopts the philosophy of “Don’t ever giving up”. Don’t ever give in. Don’t ever stop trying. All these can give you an encouraging approach in preparing for these exams.

Some students feel depressed fearing failure and go into frustration and sometimes into depression. If you feel yourself succumbing to depression on even briefly, pick yourself up, brush yourself off and start again where you left off. But never give up.

Feel good factor and our self-esteem are interlinked. It does not mean patting ourselves in our back even if we have failed in some endeavour. It also gives the courage to do our best and to convert our minuses into pluses. Even if you fail in your efforts in the beginning, pick yourself and try again with a fresh start and strategy.

One should be always optimistic and think the best of everything. Visualize your soaring and expect all your prayers to god be answered. No bad times or dry seasons last forever. It has been rightly said that no pessimist ever discovered the secrets of the stars or sailed to an uncharted land or made a mark in life. We must take un examinations as a very productive activity which can take us near our goals. The productive outcome by our efforts makes us not only free but also gives a tremendous satisfaction. There are certain people who have inferiority complex.

This originates from the feeling that one is not good encourage and it takes a toll on our life as well as on our performance in whatever we are engaged in. It is a kind of obsession with our weakness as perceived by others or dived into your head by them. The first step in overcoming your inferiority complex is to list out all your good qualities and achievement. The next step is to practice and improve upon your unique skills and talents. Always play up your positive qualities and encourage yourself at every opportunity. The effective preparation includes the following. Firstly a time table is the need of the hour.

Prioritise the subjects where you are required to give more time and revise these subjects first study the light subjects last as your requirement of revision is less in these subject. Take good care of your body with good sleep and have a balanced diet to have proper concentration in your studies dedicated course of study requires proper planning. It is said that failing to plan will result in a plan to fail.

Parents have to properly nurture their wards during the course of the preparation and during the examination proper. Irrespective of whether a parent is educated or not, it is the experience or maturity that should enable herein to see his ward through the tough challenges faced emotionally and mentally during the examination.

Due care need to be taken to see that undue pressure is not on the child to deliver results at any cost. This can have catastrophic results as the child can face depression. The child needs to relax for short intervals with light entertainment in the form of books or read news and watching television to recharge the batteries which will have good positive effects on his concentration levels and boost his retention power.

Root memory is not a substitute for understanding the concept learning. It is observed that many a student’s adopt shortcuts in exams to pass like coping. But these not achieve the targeted goals through these measure. One can adopt a strategy of studying certain portions in the syllabus with almost dedication and browsing the remaining portions. It is not just merely passing the examination but securing a certain percentage of marks with certain knowledge quotient to help them in the future endeavours.

In today’s 21st century Info tech age the young people have numerous ways of getting entertained like mobiles, automobiles and numerous other gadgets. Secondly the peer influence also results in spoiling the young people. It is generally said that man behaves in the company keeps and it is universally applicable. One needs to keep a check on the friends circle in order to perform credibly in the examination.

Time management and ‘discipline’ form the two pillars of success for young people wanting to strike gold in these examination. So by saying better later that never, prepare in right earnest and face the examination with guts and gumption.
