Tiatr Mogi
Love manifests itself in strange ways. Some are selfish in the name of love, while others exhibit love by sacrificing their own happiness for the welfare and well being of the others, and yet another individual believes that love is giving and emptying oneself for the happiness of the other. But then, does love really exist in the modern world? Or has love been lost in the oblivion? Comedian Sally takes the audience on a jolly good ride explaining his concept of love in his latest release ‘Ho mog koslo?’
Script
The script is weak and full of questions left unanswered. Rather, there is no logic in the sequence of developments as the plot unfolds. The presentation is in the form of a non stop drama wherein the comedy has no connection to the main story plot. But there are some interesting cantos which are sung beautifully too.
Comedy
The presentation has simple comedy in the non stop drama form which has no connection to the main story line. The comedy is simple but manages to get a laugh. Unfortunately, most of the comedy was old wine in new bottle; performed in one way or the other in some or the other tiatr earlier. Even so, the comedy provided wholesome entertainment.
Sets
Good use of imagination is made to show two different backgrounds using the same box set and by only altering a few files. The house furniture was unsuitable and didn’t match the richness of the box sets. Minimal use of the blue curtain was made.
Acting
The tiatr features some good acting by the cast. Crostina is quite natural and great to watch on the stage. The grace with which she carries herself, coupled with her excellent dialogue delivery is a treat to watch. Victor is effective and impressive. Trindade as the father too portrays the character with ease. Mario and Evaristo give a decent display. However, Melisha in the lead was a total failure with no depth whatsoever in her acting and characterization. In the comedy section, Marcos Alina combine well. Sally is great, but Aveena is outstanding. Her dialogue delivery is very natural and her comedy timing is great. She does not have great punches but her line ‘…mhoi Mae sangtalee’ was enough to send the auditorium into howls of laughter. Aveena definitely has a great future.
Music and songs
The band led by Anthony de Velim and his son Miles is impressive. Francisco provides good background score for the play. The tiatr has a beautiful opening song sung in class by Alina. Peviola Wilma are great in their duos but one of the songs sung was an old one. They also sing a trio. Their singing style is great however having just one chorus and the same style of singing the verse is getting too monotonous. A duo by Victor-Trindade, and then their trio with Saby de Diwar is also great. Saby de Diwar sings a power packed political solo but then repeating a song just because a few people clapped and one whistled was not merited. Evaristo is a great singer but the topic was outdated.
Direction:
The direction was good. A good support from the technical crew was ensured. The Director has ensured that a decent performance was presented. Ho mog koslo? is a good performance to watch.
