The ongoing Kalarang 2019, a five-day festival of cultural celebration organised jointly by Kalangan Centre for Performing Arts and Ravindra Bhavan, Margao had spellbound performances in music, dance and theatre by eminent personalities. Inaugurated by eminent actor Milind Gunaji, the annual event is a much awaited one in the cultural calendar of Goa.
The programme began with noted flute player Rakesh Chaurasiya. The audience was spellbound by Bharatnatyam performance ‘Vaijayanti’ and Mohiniattam dance by Sandra Pisharody on day two. Arati Nayak’s classical singing was followed by Prasad Khoparde’s vocal recital on day three. Marathi play ‘Aranyak’ will be staged on April 28 at 9.30 pm and ‘Maunraag’ a theatrical presentation by Aavishkar will be on April 29 at 7 pm. The programme is free for all and the admission will be given on first come first serve basis. Children below the age of eight are not permitted to attend. Rajendra Talak of Kalangan has appealed the audience to be seated 15 minutes before the programme begins.
