Pope of the people, for the people

ARIZONA

Pope Francis, a Pope of the people and for the people returned to our Heavenly Father in Heaven.

His legacy is that we all have been awaken! Awaken to live the Gospel as Jesus himself preached to all: “Love one another as I have loved you; whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did it for me”.

Pope Francis loved and embraced the poor, the downtrodden, the marginalized. He lived the Gospel by word and deed with simplicity, humility, without fanfare and pomp of his position. He followed in the footsteps of his beloved Saint Francis of Assisi whose name he took when he was elected to occupy the Petrine chair.

Papa Francesco embraced all and every human being without distinction of race, class, religion and social status. The Church is for all, “para todos, todos, todos” as he said when he spoke at Fatima. He loved to laugh and radiated that happiness from within.

May we, his sheep, be worthy to follow the footsteps of our gentle, humble yet wise and all-embracing Shephard, the Servant of God. Lux aeterna dona ei, Domine.
