Former students of St Ann’s High School in Tivim-Goa held a Platinum Jubilee Dine and Dance event in England to raise funds for the school building extension project.
Former students of the school in England along with their former teacher Sera Da Gama celebrated the Platinum Jubilee at Pope John Memorial Hall in Heston and raised funds for the Jubilee Memorial Block.
Explaining the main purpose of the event, the ex-students informed that in Goa, the school management plans to build a Jubilee Memorial Block, as a remembrance of the 75 years of the school existence
. The plan is to build four classrooms for the Grade XI and XII students of the school.
The dance, organised by ex-students of the school based in England, had CBK freights Pvt Ltd as the main sponsors while ex-students of the school contributed with different sponsorships to make the event a great success.
“The event was a great success, with everyone praising the organisational skills and praising the efforts of all people who worked behind the curtains to make it a memorable event,” said ex-teacher Sera Da Gama.
The Platinum Jubilee King and Queen, Sydney Fernandes (Swindon) and Leona Cardozo (Staines).
The Dine and Dance event kicked off with a march by 30 ex-students, followed by the cutting of the cake.

Around 250 guests besides the ex-students coming from London, Wembley, Reading, Kent, Bristol, Swindon attended the event.
One of the ex-students, Janet Jensen, travelled all the way from Sweden, just to attend the function.
The organisers also had lots of games for little children and adults and also some games for ex-students.
The top draw of the event and the highlight of the event was the crowning of the Platinum Jubilee King and Queen, with Leona Cardozo (Staines) crowned the Queen and Sydney Fernandes (Swindon) crowned the King.
The event was hosted by MC Bunty Vaz, while one-man band Chickoo, performed at the show and kept the guests in high spirits.
