PANAJI: The Consumer Welfare Club of St Francis Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Siolim, observed World No Tobacco Day by organising a series of activities aimed at spreading awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco. Teachers, along with students from Class 11 and 12 across Arts, Science, and Commerce streams, took a ‘No Tobacco’ pledge to reaffirm their commitment to a tobacco-free lifestyle.
An individual bookmark-making competition on the theme ‘Harmful Effects of Tobacco’ was also conducted. Mast. Sainath Morajkar (12 Com. B), Mast. Laksh Mandrekar (12 Com. B), and Miss Sakshi Narvekar (12 Com. C) secured the first, second, and third places respectively. Consolation prizes were awarded to Miss Anushka Morajkar (12 Com. A), Livianna Fernandes, and Larissa Fernandes (12 Com. C). The initiative was coordinated by Consumer Welfare Club coordinator Tr Sandhya Fernandes with support from other staff members.
