Swami Vivekanand Vidyaprasarak Mandal’s Commerce College, Borim-Ponda, organised a one-day state-level workshop on “Modern Job Skills and Financial Literacy” on September 12. The programme aimed to prepare students and young professionals for today’s job market by bridging the gap between academic learning and industry needs. Principal Prof Achyut Pednekar, in his address, underlined financial literacy as a vital life skill. Chief guest Dr Amanpal Singh Chawla, Executive Director of Skillsped Solutions, guided participants from five colleges on career development and financial planning. The workshop included sessions on stock market simulations through virtual trading, optimising LinkedIn profiles, using job portals effectively, and networking opportunities. The event also saw the signing of an MoU to continue such initiatives, with support from UTI Mutual Fund’s Project FLY and Skillsped Solutions.
