NEW DELHI: General Secretary of the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Goa State John Aguiar attended a meeting of secretaries of State and Union Territory branches at the IRCS National Headquarters in New Delhi on Saturday. Presided over by Secretary General (In-charge) Lalit Wadhwa, who is also Advisor to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the meeting reviewed the functioning of State and UT branches and discussed ways to strengthen coordination with the National Headquarters.
Discussions focused on branch administration, volunteer engagement, youth programmes, blood donation activities, disaster preparedness and response, humanitarian services and reporting mechanisms. The secretaries shared experiences, challenges and suggestions for improving programme implementation and outreach. The meeting stressed collective efforts to strengthen the Red Cross network and ensure humanitarian services reach vulnerable communities effectively.
