MARGAO: Portuguese guitarist Marta Pereira da Costa performed alongside Goan sitar maestro Ustad Chhote Rahimat Khan at Ravindra Bhavan, in a concert organised by Communicare Trust with the Consulate General of Portugal in Goa and Camoes - CLP. The concert brought Fado and Hindustani classical music together, with Khan performing with tabla artist Mayank Bedekar, followed by Costa with Joao Jose Pita Junior on seven-string guitar and Carlos Miguel Antunes on percussion. The artistes later joined for a collaborative set, while Goan fado singer Sonia Shirsat joined Costa and Pita Junior for a traditional fado rendition. Costa’s trio also performed her compositions ‘My Soul’ and ‘Memories’. The concert was held as a fundraiser for Communicare Trust’s community programmes.
