Governor visits Big Foot Goa

PANAJI: The Governor of Goa, Pusapati Ashok Gajapati Raju, accompanied by Sunila Gajapati Raju, visited Ancestral Goa – Big Foot, an open-air museum known for showcasing Goa’s traditional lifestyle and cultural heritage. The dignitaries were welcomed by Tosha Alvares and taken on a guided tour by Adriel Alvares, CEO of Big Foot Goa. During the visit, they explored exhibits depicting traditional Goan life, harmony with nature, and the architectural heritage preserved at the museum. They also sampled local delicacies including Pez (rice kanji) and Kankon, a traditional Goan bread.   

At the site of the laterite sculpture of Sant Mirabai, children from Valentina’s Little Heaven presented a traditional Mando performance, highlighting Goa’s cultural traditions through music and dance. Speaking during the visit, Governor Raju described the experience as “golden” and appreciated the efforts taken to preserve heritage and pass traditional values to future generations. He noted that the project reflected a sincere attempt to connect the past with the future. A memento of Bigfoot Goa was presented to the Governor by Kavya Alvares. The Governor also visited Casa Araujo Alvares, the 17th-century ancestral house known for preserving Indo-Portuguese heritage and architecture.
