Tereza Andrade was on Monday unanimously elected as sarpanch of Bironda panchayat in Sattari.The post had fallen vacant following the resignation of Udaysingh Rane and since Andrade was the only one to file a nomination, she was declared elected unopposed by the extension officer from the Sattari BDO office
With the exception of Nitin Shivdekar, all other panchas, Sada Gaonkar, Sameer Bagi, Pallavi Gaonkar, Nikita Narvekar and Udaysingh Rane were present at the meeting.
Later speaking to reporters, Andrade said all-round development of Bhironda would be pursued with the collaboration of all panchayat members and guidance of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and the local MLA. She also appealed to people of Bhironda to support the panchayat to resolve all pending issues in the village.
