PANAJI: Goan author and multidisciplinary creative Tagore Almeida’s latest book, SALIGIA: A Journey Into the Battle Within, will be launched on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 5.30 pm at Sadhana Dell’Arte, Merces, Goa. Renowned author, tiatrist and former Goa Legislative Assembly Speaker Tomazinho Cardozo will launch the book. Theatre practitioner, writer and educator Isabel de Santa Rita Vás will share her reflections, while Alexyz will add humour. This will be followed by a conversation with Almeida about the book and its creation.
SALIGIA is a mythological and spiritual exploration of the struggle between darkness and the choices we make within. Through allegory and reflection, Almeida re-examines human failings, highlighting virtues such as courage, humility, fellowship, equality and compassion. It is ultimately about discovering the humanity needed to confront evil. Almeida’s works include The Goan Who Sold His FENI, The Emperor Cried, A God of Sinners, USS DIN and the podcast A Pint of Imbecile Wisdom.
