Goan artist to showcase Goa at Japan art triennale

PANAJI: Renowned Goan watercolour artist Kalidas Satardekar has been invited to Japan as a Guest Artist and Demonstration Artist for the prestigious Japan Nadeshiko Watercolor Triennale 2026. As part of the event, Satardekar will present a solo exhibition titled ‘Pravah’ from May 23 to 27 at Gallery and Space Coffret in Kobe, Japan. The exhibition will feature around 35 to 40 watercolour paintings depicting Goa’s landscapes, heritage, architecture, traditions and everyday life. 

Satardekar has earlier represented India at international art events in countries including Turkey, Azerbaijan and Jordan, earning acclaim for his live demonstrations and exhibitions. He currently serves as South India Leader of the International Watercolor Society and heads key art bodies in Goa. Recipient of several State, national and international honours, Satardekar is widely recognised for promoting watercolour art through workshops, exhibitions and art education initiatives.
