VASCO: Mormugao Port Authority (MPA) celebrated World Environment Day on Thursday with a large-scale tree plantation programme titled ‘Aavaychi Bagh’ ” a heartfelt tribute to “Mother”.
The plantation drive was inaugurated by MPA Chairperson Dr N Vinodkumar, in the presence of the deputy chairperson, heads of departments, senior officials, port employees, and staff of Adani Mormugao Port Terminal Ltd.
The theme ‘Aavaychi Bagh’, which translates to “Mother’s Garden”, was conceived to blend ecological responsibility with emotional resonance, encouraging participants to plant and nurture trees in honour of their mothers.
