An American priest, bestselling author, prominent intellectual, and a sought-after public speaker is to "visit" Goa through cyberspace in mid-July for a special talk on prayer.
Fr James J Martin SJ is the editor-at-large of the Jesuit magazine "America", and has been appointed by Pope Francis in 2017 as a consultor to the Vatican's Secretariat for Communications.
His books include "The Jesuit Guide to (Almost) Everything: A Spirituality for Real Life", "Jesus: A Pilgrimage" and "My Life With the Saints". He is known worldwide for his talks on the life and teachings of Christ and Ignatian spirituality.
In Goa, he will conduct a 90-minute session organised on July 16 at 6.30 pm IST by the month-old Collaborative Learning Cafe. The CLC organises free and open talks relating to jobs, lifelong learning, and hobbies.At the event, Martin will speak on "Everyone can have an intimate relationship with God". He will focus on how everyone can pray; how to know which prayer is right for you; what happens when we pray; and what if nothing "happens" in prayer.
