The chief security officer of BITS Pilani (Goa) Pradip Yadav has been recently awarded the certification of Certified Protection Professional (CPP®) by American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS International) based at Virginia, USA. Yadav, an Indian Air Force (IAF) veteran who possesses clinical understanding in the field of crisis, disaster and security management, is one of the very few security professionals in India and perhaps the only in Goa to have received this certification. Yadav who is serving at BITS Pilani’s Goa campus since 2018, expressed his joy for achieving the rarest milestone. ASIS International is a professional organization for security professionals and it issues certifications, standards, and guidelines for the security profession. The CPP certification is regarded as the gold standard for security management professionals worldwide, which is achieved by merely 2 % of the world’s security professionals. This certification tests the deep understanding and implementation of different parameters of security including physical security, information security, crisis and business management, Investigations and workplace behavioural analysis.
