The annual cleanliness drive at nine wards of Varca by The International Association of Lions Clubs Region IX, Zone I 3rd Zone Level Program Hosted by Lions Club of Salcete with Nurture the Nature on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti in association with Varca panchayat, NSS of Government College of Commerce and Economics Borda, FIT India Initiative, volunteers from Goa Steel and ACC Cements organized a drive at Chadvado, Novangully, Reprovaddo, Laxette, Guneavaddo, Pedda Uttordoxi, Pedda, Dumottem, 1st Fatrade.
The cleanliness drive collected thrash in about 100 odd bags. The volunteers with FIT India were enthused with the cleanliness drive. The sarpanch elaborated on continuous and sustainable projects and programs to be carried out with the service from Lions Clubs for better service to Varca.
The motto was Clean India Green India with Nurture the Nature. Sarpanch Anthony Rodrigues (Reginald), Rajendra Naik Secretary of VP Varca and panch members with the Region Chairperson Lion Vividh Pawaskar, Lion Adrian, Zone Chairperson, Host President of Lions Club of Salcete Lion Joaquim Gonsalves with his members from Lions Club of Salcete, Lion Ularico Rodrigues, Past District Governor, Leo Diksha Sharma, President of Leo Club of Salcete, members of Lions Club of Canacona, Margao, Ponda Parivar and Margao South were present with ACC Cement Officials Gautam Singh and Srikanth Awate with Goa Steel volunteers.
