MARGAO: The State football governing body Goa Football Association have banned Cuncolim Union for participating and organising tournaments for a period of one year and have also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 for sports related activities.
Fr Agnelo YSC Paroda lodged a complaint against Cuncolim Union for fielding an ineligible player Sachin Velip in the President Cup tournament which is being organised by Assolna Welfare Sports Club Passagem. The GFA upheld the protest and awarded the match in favour of the Paroda team in the semi-final.
Team manager Leo Moraes and Sachin Velip have been also fined of Rs 5,000 each.
