Can religions work together to contribute peace and harmony? Speakers from diverse faith traditions will share their views on this point at an upcoming Collaborative Learning Cafe event on December 15. Educator Dr (Sr) Rita Paes, businessman Asif Hussain and Professor Karuna R Satardekar will share their views on this issue at the upcoming event. It is being organised by the CLC, an initiative of the Friends of the Jesuits of the Goa Province from 6 pm at the Jesuit House in Panjim. "We believe that religions can play an important role in promoting peace, harmony and conflict prevention," said Fr Merwin D'Souza SJ, a team lead at the CLC. "It is important to understand diverse faith perspectives on this."Religion has taken stands on the idea of human dignity, and interfaith expressions of solidarity have often made their point strongly. Religion can represent inter-faith unifying values, and religious entities have played crucial roles in important sectors like promoting education, delivering healthcare and even addressing poverty. The meeting is open to the public, who have to confirm their participation via WhatsApp message to 9871588406, to help with planning and arrangements.
