Deviya Rane chaired the first meeting of the board members of Goa Forest Development Corporation Ltd along with Rajiv Kumar (IFS, PCCF), Santosh Kumar, (IFS & Managing Director GFDC cum APCCF Goa) and other members of the board. The Managing Director presented various activities of the Corporation in the State. Revenue generation activities such as ecotourism at potential sites in forest areas in GFDC along with the management of old cashew and rubber plantation areas were discussed at the meet. The decision to appoint a technical consultant to draft a DPR (Detailed Project Report) for the promotion of hinterland ecotourism within GFDC and potential forest areas and also to revamp the organisation structure of the Corporation to enable it to take up more activities was taken in the meeting along with the possibility of creating a yoga wellness centre at the Botanical Garden in Salaulim. In addition to this, a proposal for financial assistance for the rejuvenation of the old/senile cashew plantation and its maintenance work was also discussed.
