The Lions Club of Margao and Nave Marg Foundation, jointly organized a free Diabetes Detection Camp at the Carmelite Monastery, Aquem, Margao on Sunday. It was inaugurated at 8.00 am by Fr Silvestre D’Souza OCD, the Superior of the Monastery, after a short prayer service and reading from the Holy Bible.Over 50 people availed of this opportunity and those with FBS levels of 140 and above have been enrolled into the - "Living Happily with Diabetes Club,” wherein diabetes reversal programmes will be initiated without medications.It should be noted that 92% victims of Covid in Goa had diabetes which most were not aware of. It is a silent killer and root cause of many diseases. Venu Vardhan Reddy representing the Lions Club and Dr Celso Fernandes of the Nave Marg Foundation co-ordinated the programme and made all arrangements.
