The State government has de-notified the Mormugao Port Trust (MPT) Hospital at Headland-Sada as a Covid-19 Hospital.Earlier, the health department had notified the health facility of MPT Hospital as a dedicated Covid -19 hospital for the State.All patients at the MPT Hospital will either be shifted to the South Goa District Hospital, Covid-19 Hospital (Margao), Sub District Hospital (Ponda) or Sub District Hospital (Chicalim), as the case may be, after proper clinical assessment.
All staff deployed at the MPT Hospital either own or by the Directorate of Health Services or Goa Medical College shall henceforth report to the Nodal Officer of South Goa District Hospital, Margao (Covid-19 Hospital, Margao) for their further deployment.The government stated that the MPT Hospital shall remain as a standby centre and will be activated whenever required.
