MARGAO: Rossman Cruz SC, Nagoa-Verna edged past Ambelim Sports Club 3-2 to book their place in the semi-finals the Gold Silver trophy inter village football tournament, at Rosary church ground, Navelim, on Friday.
Rossman Cruz Nagoa dominated the first session and were leading by 3-1 at the breather. It was Samson Fernandes who gave an early lead in the second minute for Ambelim SC. Rossman Cruz thereafter changed the momentum of the match and scored three goals all through Imam Guled in the 17th, 27th and 30th minutes.
In the second session, Ambelim SC defended well and also reduced the deficit scoring their second goal through Asfin Pinto in the 54th minute.
Imam Guled of Rossman Cruz, Nagoa-Verna was presented the man-of-the-match award by Navelim SC president Frank Fernandes.
