PANAJI: The Department of Mathematics of Government College of Commerce and Economics, Borda-Margao organised a one-day state-level workshop on “Understanding Procedural Aspects in the Implementation of the RTI 2005” for the Public Information Officers (PIOs) and Assistant Public Information Officers (APIOs) recently. The Workshop was planned as a revision for the PIOs and APIOs, to gain knowledge on the procedural aspects of the RTI Act.
Prof FM Nadaf, Officiating Principal of the college addressed the gathering and stated that the RTI is an essential tool as it allows the citizens to monitor the working of the authorities. The Chief Guest for the workshop was Egna Cleetus, IAS, Deputy Collector and SDM of Quepem. Altogether, twenty-six PIOs and APIOs participated in the workshop. The workshop was coordinated by Miguel Antonio P Costa Martins, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Mathematics, and the PIO of the college.
