MARGAO: Margao-based Social activist Sidharth Karapurkar passed away on Monday evening after a brief illness. He was 55 and is survived by mother, wife and two daughters. Son of noted freedom fighter late Vasant Karapurkar, Sidharth had participated in many a battle to save Goa and the villages from destruction, more so by the mega housing projects.
He had unsuccessfully contested the Assembly elections from Navelim constituency. Former Aam Admi Party convenor and bureaucrat-turned-politician Elvis Gomes announced Sidharth’s demise on the social media. Gomes informed that Sidharth’s funeral will leave his residence at Comba Margao at 11:00 am on Tuesday for final rites.
