Pernem police arrested two persons in connection with the theft of tyres and alloy wheels within 24 hours of registration of the FIR.
According to Pernem PI Jivba Dalvi, Rakesh Yadav of Agarwada-Pernem filed a complaint on Wednesday stating that 10 tyres along with the alloys were stolen from his brother’s garage at Agarwada. He stated that all cars were brought for repairs in the garage.
A Pernem police team under the supervision of PI Jivba Dalvi examined the CCTV cameras and based on the footage, found out that a car was used in the crime.
Two persons, Gajanan Kubal (27) of Acoi, Karaswada-Mapusa and Dnyandeep Mahale (22) of Madel-Thivim were arrested in this connection and all stolen tyres along with the alloys were recovered from the accused.
The vehicle used in the crime to load all the stolen tyres and alloys has also been seized.
PI Dalvi said the accused are being interrogated to verify whether they are involved in similar more crimes. Further investigation is in progress.
