PORVORIM

Porvorim Rising has launched a Covid Assist programme for residents of Porvorim constituency, to provide Covid-19 testing facilities at the doorsteps of all residents in the constituency.

A team of volunteers, including trained nurses, will check parameters like temperature, oxygen level and blood pressure of each residents to detect early warning signs of coronavirus infection.

Speaking on the occasion, Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte said the Covid Assist programme would be provided to all three panchayats of Penha de Franca, Salvador do Mundo and Socorro in Porvorim Constituency.

“The Covid Assist programme was conceived after several people, specially senior citizens, approached me with a grievance that they are unable to get their medical parameters tested regularly amid the pandemic situation.”

“The Covid Assist programme would be conducted in all 31 wards of Porvorim constituency, wherein a team will visit each ward at least twice a month. A helpline 8308607788 has been introduced for people to know about the schedule of the programme and for other details,” said Khaunte.

The Porvorim MLA said several doctors have voluntarily agreed to join the programme by providing their services to analyse reports of the samples collected from citizens on a daily basis.

“Since Covid -19 has not vanished as yet, people should continue maintaining social distancing, wearing mask and also practice sanitisation, as part of the fight against Covid,” said Khaunte.
