VALPOI
With the stretch of the Goa-Belagavi highway via Chorla deteriorating badly, the Valpoi Block Congress has demanded repairs within 15 days failing which it has threatened to launch an agitation.
A delegation led by Valpoi Block Congress President Dashrath Mandrekar, Mahila leader Roshan Desai and Nandkumar Kopardekar met the PWD Assistant Engineer Devendra Velingkar and complained that the road is in such bad shape that numerous potholes have developed all along the stretch, making it difficult and dangerous for motorists and commuters.
They submitted a memorandum threatening to launch an agitation if the bad stretch of road is not repaired within 15 days.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Mandrekar accused the PWD of being negligent to road works along the Goa-Belagavi highway via Chorla.
Assistant Engineer Devendra Velingkar later told reporters that the repair work along the bad stretch of road would begin from Friday.
