3 accused in Walke murder case remanded to judicial custody

The Judicial Magistrate First Class (Margao) on Friday remanded the three accused persons in Swapnil Walke murder case to judicial custody till October 1. The accused Omkar Patil,Mustafa Sheikh and Evender Rodrigues have been in police custody since their arrest in the first week of September.

The fourth person suspected  in the case, Edson Gonsalves,has since been released. Meanwhile, accused Patil has submitted a bail application before the court. The Crime Branch has been given a week to reply to the same. The murder of young Margao-based jeweler Swapnil Walke on September 2 had shaken Goa to its core with a video of the guesome stabbing of the victim going viral.
The Crime Branch took over the investigation into the case on September 5 and has begun probing the angle of a failed robbery attempt after dismissing all other possible motives.
