The State on Monday recorded the 9 Covid deaths, a single-digit toll for the second time in the last four days. Also, with 253 new cases, the single-day Covid count of Goa was lowest on Monday compared to the past two-and-a-half months. Of the nine deaths, four were recorded at GMC, two at South Goa District Hospital and one each at Ponda, Redkar Hospital and SMRC.

PANAJI Panaji JMFC has remanded Valpoi woman Vishranti Gawas, accused of kidnapping an infant from the GMC premises, to five days of police custody. While the month-old infant has been reunited with his biological mother, Gawas languishes in the Agassaim lock-up. Meanwhile, the police are planning to conduct the necessary DNA test to confirm the identity of the child’s biological mother.
