The Guirim comunidade president Tulio de Souza said the government should come out with a white paper on the number of illegal constructions that have come up on comunidade land in the State and take action against those responsible for the illegality. “Let the government show its willingness to act against illegal constructions on comunidade land. If the attorney of a particular comunidade does not act as per the provisions of the code then the attorney has to be immediately suspended,” De Souza said.
He said the Code of Comunidade provides a provision to act against its own components and office-bearers that have gone astray. “It’s for the government to act. The code provides for the action,” he said.
