PORVORIM
The State government has set up a call centre on the first floor of the Goa Cricket Academy at Porvorim under the supervision of Bardez Additional Collector Mamu Hage and Dy Collector Kapil Phadte for Covid patients under home isolation in Bardez taluka.
Porvorim Primary Health Centre Health Officer Dr Vikas Naik, Aldona PHC Health Officer Dr Preetam Naik, Candolim PHC Health Officer Dr Roshan Nazareth, Siolim PHC Health Officer Dr Sadhna Shetye, Colvale PHC Health Officer Dr Yogesh Govekar and Mapusa Urban Health Centre Health Officer Dr Cheryl De Souza and nodal officers will provide the medical assistance to Covid patients.
When contacted, Dr Vikas Naik said doctors at the health centres are busy involved in vaccination and conducting tests of people affected with coronavirus.
“Hence, we do not get sufficient time to interact with Covid patients under home isolation in the jurisdiction of our health centres. As such, this call centre has been set up by State government for Covid patients in Bardez which will operate from 8 am to 8 pm.”
“Staff at the call centre will speak to Covid patients under home isolation and collect details of their health conditions and feed these details into the computers. Later, the nodal officer of the health centre concerned will prescribe the necessary treatment to patients,” said Dr Naik.
BJP leader Kishor Assnodkar said the government had taken the right step by setting up a call centre for Covid patients under home isolation in Bardez taluka.
“According to information I have received from health officials concerned, there are around 3,500 Covid patients under home isolation in Bardez.”
“We have provided volunteers to this call centre and we appeal to Covid patients under home isolation to avail the benefits of this call centre,” said Assnodkar.
