The Parents Teachers Association (PTA) and teachers of St Anthony High School, Monte de Guirim celebrated Women’s Day on March 15 organised by the PTA.
The UN theme for this year's International Women’s Day is “Women in Leadership Achieving an equal future in a Covid-19 world”.
The programme began with a prayer service followed by the lighting of the lamp. Dr Priyanka Sahasra Bhojanee, the chief guest for the day, stressed the importance of maintaining a balanced life by managing emotions, thoughts and behaviour.
The Covid warriors were felicitated on the occasion included Dr Priyanka Sahasra Bhojanee (consultant psychiatrist Sakhi Mind Care), Lavina Cardozo (nurse at Goa Scan Centre), Dr Neha Carmen Dias (a doctor at GMC-Covid ward), Dr Lynette Maria Fernandes (gynaecologist at Sub District Hospital, Ponda), Raquel Pinto (Head Constable at Old Goa police station) and Maria Margaret Lorenco (Head Nurse at GMC).
The Headmaster Fr Avinash Rodrigues in his message congratulated the Covid warriors and thanked all the women for playing an important role in society.
