The Catechetical cell of the St. Thomas church, Aldona under the leadership of the Animator and Parish Vicar organised ‘Capture Aldona Photography Contest” for the catechism children, as part of the 425 years jubilee celebration of St Thomas church. The theme of the contest was ‘Beautiful Aldona’. The prize distribution ceremony was held on Sept 19 beginning with a prayer service. Parish Vicar Fr. Tomas in his address said the purpose of holding the contest was to imbibe in the children the love for creation, to protect Mother Earth and to connect the scriptures with nature. The contest was judged by Fr Alfi D’Cruz and Darryl Andrade. Parish vicar Fr Tomas Lobo and Deacon Melito D’Costa distributed the prizes. Delroy Fernandes, Jwellyn D’Souza and Breivik D’Cruz were awarded 1st,2nd and 3rd prize respectively. They received a certificate, memento and a gift voucher. Consolation prizes were awarded to Jassiel Colaco, Jesus Lobo, Eloi Colaco, Ronella Victoria and Emmanuela Colaco. They received a certificate and memento. A token of appreciation was presented to Master Bernathan Rodrigues for the photography layout and to Sandhya Fernandes for compering the programme.
