Gurudas Gawas was elected unopposed as sarpanch of Mauxi Panchayat on Tuesday. The post had fallen vacant following the resignation of then sarpanch Preeti Gaonkar and all panchas were present at a special meeting to elect the new sarpanch. Gawas was the only candidate to file his nomination and was elected unopposed. Speaking after being elected Sarpanch Gurudas Gauns said the overall development of Mauxi Panchayat would be undertaken with the support of Poriem MLA Deviya Rane and Health Minister Vishwajit Rane. He assured there would be no discrimination among wards in matters of development and efforts would be made to provide equal opportunities to all wards while maintaining a balanced approach to development. Deviya Rane congratulated Gurudas Gawas on his unopposed election as sarpanch of Mauxi Panchayat. She expressed confidence that Gauns would provide effective leadership to the panchayat.
