Human rights body seeks inquiry into inmate's self immolation

The Goa Human Rights Commission has sought reports from the District Magistrate, North Goa and Inspector General of Police regarding the self immolation of an inmate at Colvale Central Jail on Wednesday. Taking suo motu cognisance of the incident reported in newspapers in Thursday, the Commission sought inquiry and reports by December 10, 2024.  The inmate alleged harassment forcing him to take this step, and is currently being treated at GMC.

Breast screening, Ayush Camp at Palolem on Wednesday

CANACONA: A breast screening and Ayush Camp will be held at Palolem on Thursday between 9 am and 1 pm. Canacona Municipal Council (CMC) Chairperson Sara Naik Desai informed that the camp will be held at Government Middle School, Palolem and requested women to attend the camp.
