Vasco police have booked a couple from Bagalkot-Karnataka on charges of cheating a man from Issorcim to the tune of Rs 1 lakh. According to a complaint, Narindar Yadav claimed that the accused, Santosh Pattanashetti and Deepa Pattanashetti had deceived him by inducing him to lend them Rs 1 lakh. The complainant was led to believe that the amount would be used by the accused for the purchase of a taxi, and they assured him that the money would be repaid. However, after receiving the amount, the accused fled without repaying Yadav, duping him to the tune of Rs lakh. Upon receiving the complaint, Vasco police registered the case and PSI Carey Fernandes is carrying out the investigation under the supervision of PI Kapil Nayak and guidance of Mormugao DySP Salim Shaikh.
