Allister Martins' new single ‘Without You’ will be premiered on June 8. The track can be best described as a one-sided conversation with a loved one that’s lost forever and would be available on all leading platforms, including Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube and Amazon Music.
“The song comes after dealing with the personal loss of my uncle Rajeev Gomes who passed away due to Covid-19 complications a month ago,” shares Allister, who, overwhelmed by the pain felt by the family, decided to pen down a track about losing a loved one. Rajeev's wife Cheryl is a notable music producer for the Mumbai film and ad scene.
“Not known to many, Rajeev has always been like a father figure to me and a lot of other people. A man who'd always have people's backs. And a lot of people have lost loved ones like Rajeev in their lives due to the virus, making this track very relatable to almost everyone. The music flowed by itself as soon as I picked up the guitar. I believe that music can go a long way and heal a lot of wounds. It surely has helped me deal with almost everything in life. It's been a getaway most of the time," feels Allister. The music video is a lockdown video shot at Allister's house, starring Goan model Nakita Tania Fernandes. Due to the curfew and restrictions, Allister decided to direct and shoot the video himself. “I always have a video in my mind while writing and making a song. I was incredibly happy to have pulled it off and come very close to what was in my mind, given that I haven't ever directed anything,” he admits.
