MARGAO
With no cattle pound to impound the strays in the commercial capital, the Margao Municipal Council has got the Dyan Foundation to take the three strays to their Gaushala at the Kholkar Farm, Quittol-Betul on Saturday.
MMC Chief Officer Agnelo Fernandes wrote a letter to the head of the Dyan Foundation requesting the NGO to take custody of the three cattle that were impounded by the Fatorda police on Friday.
The three stays were tied near the veterinary hospital, Sonsodo on Friday after the Margao Municipality expressed their helplessness in taking custody of the strays for want of a proper cattle pound.
With the Veterinary hospital not willing to keep the strays anymore in their premises, the Chief Officer requested the foundation to lodge the three cattle at their Gaushala at Quittol.
Fatorda PI Kapil Nayak informed that the cattle has been taken by the foundation to their farm at Quittol.
