Navy evacuates fisherman at sea

A fisherman was evacuated from the sea by an Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) of INAS 323 squadron, INS Hansa, Goa, on Thursday. According to the Navy, the fisherman experienced acute chest pain while fishing about 50 nm southwest of Goa. He was airlifted by an ALH in the presence of a naval medical officer and brought to INS Hansa. The fisherman was transferred to the sub-district hospital at Chicalim for further treatment and his condition is reported to be stable.

Literary meet at Raj Bhavan today

PANAJI Raj Bhavan is organising a get-together on October 29 at 5 pm in the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan. The function will be attended by 15 eminent literary figures from Konkani and Marathi fields. Vice President of India, Venkaiah Naidu will attend the get-together and Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai will preside over it. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Union Minister of State, Shripad Naik will also grace the get-together.
