As part of Swarnim Vijay Varsh celebrations, a cycle expedition was flagged off from Vasco by Commodore Ashish Goyal, Chief Staff Officer, Goa Naval Area on Thursday, A total of 24 naval personnel from Goa Naval Area are taking part in various legs of the expedition that covers a distance of about 500 km across the length and breadth of Goa in seven days.
VASCOA fisherman was evacuated from the sea by an Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) of INAS 323 squadron, INS Hansa, Goa, on Thursday. According to the Navy, the fisherman experienced acute chest pain while fishing about 50 nm southwest of Goa. He was airlifted by an ALH in the presence of a naval medical officer and brought to INS Hansa. The fisherman was transferred to the sub-district hospital at Chicalim for further treatment and his condition is reported to be stable.
