He candidly remarks “I have no trust that I will not faceanother no confidence motion, but I am prepared,” The PMC Chairperson adds:“I’m running a coalition council in Pernem. Since people have not given a fullmajority to the council, opposition councilors who were previously supportingthe ex-MLA have now switched to BJP and are opposing me.”
Instability and the lack of full time Chief Officer has beena major concern for Pernem Muncipal Council, thereby hampering development
Since the past two years the council does not have a fulltime chief officer, which is hampering work in Pernem.
Currently many resolutions have been passed and work is inprogress for projects, with the support of MLA, Rajendra Arlekar and thegovernment, the chairperson said.
We have taken major development works like construction ofgarbage treatment plant, bus stand and the market. Minor projects likeconstruction of footpaths and drains are already in progress, the total cost ofwhich is around Rs 200 crore,” the chairperson said.
