The Society of Pilar has joined hands with the Rotary Club Panjim Riviera with their group Covid Services Goa to reach out to the suffering and the dying especially at the GMC and the Super Specialty Block, taking care of patients and healthcare workers based on the assessment and requirements.
Fr Mathew Fernandes, Provincial of Goa Province, and Fr Lawrence Fernandes, on behalf of the Society of Pilar, handed over 10 oxygen concentrators of 7-litre capacity to advocate Amit Palekar, who is spearheading frontline work of the Rotary Club.
Palekar thanked the Society of Pilar for this initiative and the generous contribution of lifesaving equipment. He said these oxygen concentrators would be lent out to Covid patients who would need them during the post-Covid recovery period.
Rotary Club Panjim Riviera and Covid Services Goa have been in the forefront of providing food, medicines and essential supplies to Covid patients and their families.
Members of the Goa Province of the Society of Pilar have made themselves available by appointing nodal officers in each unit in the south for Covid outreach services group for SOS calls for help and providing assistance that arises in their respective areas under the coordination of the Covid outreach services.
