On February 23, the Goa State Commission for Protection of Child Rights conducted a programme on capacity building of village panchayats and municipal councils to strengthen the child protection system and activate the village child committees to make them functional at the village panchayat level. The programme was held at the Government College of Arts and Commerce, Virnoda and attended by the chairperson of Pernem Municipal Council Usha Nagvekar, BDO of Pernem, secretaries of panchayats, sarpanches, village child committee members, CDPO and Anganwadi workers.
The programme coordinator was Rekha D'Silva, member of GSCPCR. The presentation was given by chairperson Peter Borges.
