PANAJI: The Goa cricket team have been tasked with a mountain to climb as they trail Tripura by 431 runs at the end of day 2 of their opening match in Group C of the Ranji Trophy, in Agartala, on Saturday.
Struggling at at 53 for the loss of four wickets, Skipper Darshan Misal (2) and Krishnamurthy Siddharth (3) were at the crease at the end of day's play. The home side managed to pick up wickets at regular intervals to curb the opposition making a decent start. Abhijit Sarkar managed to knock down three wickets for just 13 runs.
Earlier, Tripura were bundled out for 484 runs in 123.4 overs after commendable performances by Sridam Paul(112) and captain Wriddhiman Saha(97). Mohit Redkar was the star with the ball for Goa with bowling figures of 4-74. The other Goan bowlers Lakshay Garg, Arjun Tendulkar and Vijesh Prabhudessai picked up two wickets each.
