MAPUSA: The NSS unit and Consumer Welfare Club of St Francis Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Siolim, observed Road Safety Week with a poster-making competition and a skit on road safety. The event was organised in collaboration with the Anjuna Traffic Cell, the Village Development Committee for Road Safety, and the Marna-Siolim Village Panchayat.
Siya Parsekar (XI Science), Clarine Mascarenhas (XII Commerce B) and Mou Mandal bagged the first, second and third prizes respectively. They received cash awards and certificates, while consolation prizes were also presented.
The competition was judged by Sarpanch Amit Morajkar, Village Development Committee Secretary Joaquim Barros, members Michelle, Agnelo Noronha and Gregory Dsouza, along with Anjuna Traffic Cell Assistant Sub-Inspector Krishna Gaurav.
Prizes were distributed by Principal Fr Edal Kumar, Assistant Sub-Inspector Bashir Mulla, and Village Development Committee President for Road Safety Gregory Dsouza. The event was coordinated by programme officers Melanie Vaz, Rachel Dsouza, Sandhya Fernandes and Disha Pednekar.
