Rotary Club of Margao on Monday launched its seven-day door-to-door e-waste collection initiative in the jurisdiction of Margao Municipal Council. The initiative was launched in the presence of Margao Municipal Chairperson Damu Shirodkar and others, as the club members geared up to go round all the 25 Municipal wards to collect the e-waste.
He said the door-to-door e-waste collection will take place in all the 25 wards. “Old and unused mobiles, adopters, key boards lying at the residences of the citizens will be collected during the drive. People can hand over the e-waste to our members. After collection, the e-waste will be handed over to the Group 10-plus group for recycling.
Karapurkar made a fervent plea to the people staying in the jurisdiction of Margao Municipal Council to get rid of the e-waste before the New Year. Margao Municipal Chairperson Damu Shirodkar appealed to the citizens to cooperate with the Club by handing their e-waste.
