Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) Chairman and Saligao MLA Kedar Naik distributed clay mixing machines and paint compressors to artisans engaged in crafting traditional eco-friendly Ganesh idols in Saligao constituency.
As the machines usually provided by the Goa Handicrafts Department were unavailable due to a shortage, Naik extended support by purchasing and distributing the equipment from his personal funds to ensure that the artisans could continue their work without interruption. Speaking on the occasion, Naik said Ganesh Chaturthi is one of Goa's most cherished festivals and it is encouraging to see local artisans preserving the rich tradition of crafting eco-friendly Ganesh idols. He appreciated their dedication to safeguarding Goa's cultural heritage and assured them of his continued support to promote and strengthen such traditional practices.
